METAMORPHOSES 2

Directed by Kasia Różycki

Produced by Off The Cliff Theatre

10th - 15th July 2018

Performed at the Waterloo East Theatre

Following a sell-out run last year, London's beloved, vignette-style production inspired by Ovid's 'Metamorphoses' made a big comeback! It

consisted of 5 fantastical, multi-layered and poignant plays - stories of love (often unrequited), power of the arts, double punishment, gender identity, the interactions of gods and mortals, loss of speech and, most of all, transformation! This original show featuring elements of visual, physical, devised and experimental theatre as well as live music created - yet again - a unique experience for the audience!

4**** Review by Michael Davies, Breaking The Forth Wall

'Following last year’s evening of plays inspired by Ovid’s Metamorphoses, Off The Cliff Theatre returns with a second round of the format, with all the plays directed by Kasia Różycki.'

Review by Laura Kressly for The Play's The Thing

'Largely well-curated and impactful.'

Review by James Hall for Just Add The Pictures

'Wow, what a difference a year makes! A year ago I wrote about Metamorphoses, a series of short plays presented at the Bread and Roses Theatre. Now, Off The Cliff Theatre which produced that first production are back with Metamorphosis II this time at the larger and more central Waterloo East Theatre. And it's good! There are five short plays, each very different, each with a strong story to tell and each compelling. The cast of 17 artists and musicians are versatile, professional and committed. Director Kasia Różycki has orchestrated everything very effectively and produced an excellent evening’s entertainment. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I’m looking forward already to next year’s production.'
